The Sonsco Ichido Gypsy Fortune Teller is a battery operated toy produced by Ichida, Japan. A coin placed in the coin slot activates the toy. She has several movements, including a fortune card drops from her sleeve.
This is an absolutely stunning, original toy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have all of the original cards as there were 10 each for boys and girls. Specifically, there are 3 original boy cards and 2 original girl cards. Gypsy’s robes are nearly factory-perfect with the original red lace trim and pearl necklace, and she also has her original red cloth and crystal ball.
The gypsy, as shown in the You Tube video, operates perfectly and dispenses the fortune cards in perfect order. In fact, when I found this toy, she sprang to life after a light dusting and a little cleaning of the battery contacts! Probably the nicest I’ve owned in my 40+ years of collecting!
